This artwork by Walter Peterhans achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in April 2008. In the Photographs auction, the work Still Life Composition sold for USD 32,200.00 (€ 20,683.45) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Peterhans - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Portrait Of E. F.', which sold at auction in October 2018 for USD 47,500.00 (€ 41,916.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Walter Peterhans erzielte im April 2008 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit Still Life Composition für USD 32.200,00 (€ 20.683,45) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Walter Peterhans mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Portrait Of E. F.' beobachtet, die im Oktober 2018 für USD 47.500,00 (€ 41.916,70) versteigert wurde.
