Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The First Snowfall by Walter Launt Palmer was sold in the American Art Online auction at Christies in New York in November 2019. The price achieved of USD 40,000.00 (€ 36,300.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Walter Launt Palmer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Winter Forest in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 198,000.00 (€ 147,179.07).
