Auction result well in line with expectations
The work On the Llugwy, North Wales by Walter J. Watson was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2016. The price achieved of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,970.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Walter J. Watson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bolton Abbey; morning and afternoon in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 13,742.50 (€ 20,618.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit On the Llugwy, North Wales von Walter J. Watson kam im Juli 2016 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.500,00 (€ 2.970,54) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Walter J. Watson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bolton Abbey; morning and afternoon im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.742,50 (€ 20.618,81).
