Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work Sandsend, Near Lythe, North Yorkshire by Walter Heath Williams. The price achieved of GBP 600.00 (€ 890.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Heath Williams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On the Glas Lyn in October 2004 with an auction result of USD 19,120.00 (€ 15,000.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sandsend, Near Lythe, North Yorkshire von Walter Heath Williams zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 600,00 (€ 890,48) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walter Heath Williams erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit On the Glas Lyn im Oktober 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 19.120,00 (€ 15.000,78).
