In May 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Paintings, which included the work Fishermen by a lake at dusk by Walter Heath Williams. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,270.50 (€ 3,406.59), 51% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Walter Heath Williams have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work On the Glas Lyn in October 2004 with an auction result of USD 19,120.00 (€ 15,000.78).

Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fishermen by a lake at dusk von Walter Heath Williams zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.270,50 (€ 3.406,59) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Walter Heath Williams auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit On the Glas Lyn im Oktober 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 19.120,00 (€ 15.000,78).
