Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Shepherd On A Wooded Track, A Cottage Beyond by Walter Heath Williams was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,920.00 (€ 2,796.28). Admittedly, works by Walter Heath Williams have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work On the Glas Lyn in October 2004 with an auction result of USD 19,120.00 (€ 15,000.78).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Shepherd On A Wooded Track, A Cottage Beyond von Walter Heath Williams im März 2005 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.920,00 (€ 2.796,28) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Walter Heath Williams auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit On the Glas Lyn im Oktober 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 19.120,00 (€ 15.000,78).
