Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2018 Christies in New York held the auction American Art Online, which included the work Cigarrières by Walter Gay. The price achieved of USD 30,000.00 (€ 26,494.75) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Other works by Walter Gay have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in April 2002 the work Salon des Aigles, Hotel Crillon, Paris was auctioned for USD 45,410.00 (€ 50,444.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cigarrières von Walter Gay zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 26.494,75) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Walter Gay konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im April 2002 die Arbeit Salon des Aigles, Hotel Crillon, Paris für USD 45.410,00 (€ 50.444,35) versteigert.
