Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Rocky Coast (Maine) by Walter Elmer Schofield was sold in the American Paintings auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2007. The price achieved of USD 10,200.00 (€ 7,626.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Elmer Schofield achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nearing Spring in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 181,000.00 (€ 116,323.91).
