Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work English Landscape by Walter Elmer Schofield for USD 7,800.00 (€ 5,832.21). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Elmer Schofield achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nearing Spring in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 181,000.00 (€ 116,323.91).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2007 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit English Landscape von Walter Elmer Schofield für USD 7.800,00 (€ 5.832,21) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Paintings bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walter Elmer Schofield erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nearing Spring im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 181.000,00 (€ 116.323,91).
