Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2009 Christies in New York held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Celestial Express by Walter Darby Bannard. It changed hands for a price of USD 2,750.00 (€ 2,147.77) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Darby Bannard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Alby's Burgundy in December 2017 with an auction result of USD 31,250.00 (€ 25,994.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2009 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Celestial Express von Walter Darby Bannard zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 2.750,00 (€ 2.147,77) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walter Darby Bannard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Alby's Burgundy im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 31.250,00 (€ 25.994,01).
