Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Waller Hugh Paton could be acquired at Sothebys in London in November 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation auction, the work The Caves At East Wemyss, Fife changed hands for GBP 938.00 (€ 1,134.11) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Waller Hugh Paton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Loch Achray - 'The pleased lake' in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 45,600.00 (€ 67,103.49).
In der Auktion A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation wechselte die Arbeit The Caves At East Wemyss, Fife für GBP 938,00 (€ 1.134,11) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00.
