Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2006 Christies in New York held the auction The House Sale, which included the work Ruins in Rome by Wilhelm Kray. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of USD 900.00 (€ 703.51) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wilhelm Kray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work German the Sirens in May 2015 with an auction result of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 17,379.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2006 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The House Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ruins in Rome von Wilhelm Kray zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 900,00 (€ 703,51) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wilhelm Kray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit German the Sirens im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 17.379,93).
