This artwork by Wilhelm Kray achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2011. In the Old Master & 19th Century European Art auction, the work Winter sold for USD 18,750.00 (€ 13,671.16) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Wilhelm Kray; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot German the Sirens sold at auction in May 2015 with the realized price of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 17,379.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wilhelm Kray erzielte im Januar 2011 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master & 19th Century European Art wurde die Arbeit Winter für USD 18.750,00 (€ 13.671,16) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Wilhelm Kray; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit German the Sirens im Mai 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 17.379,93).
