Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Summer by Wilhelm Kray was sold in the Old Master & 19th Century European Art auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2011. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,125.00 (€ 5,924.17), 16% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wilhelm Kray - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work German the Sirens, which sold at auction in May 2015 for GBP 12,500.00 (€ 17,379.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Summer von Wilhelm Kray wurde im Januar 2011 in der Auktion Old Master & 19th Century European Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 5.924,17) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Wilhelm Kray mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit German the Sirens beobachtet, die im Mai 2015 für GBP 12.500,00 (€ 17.379,93) versteigert wurde.
