Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2008 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Australian The Clouds Drop Fatness, A Western Pastoral, New South Wales by William Charles Piguenit. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 42,000.00 (€ 21,658.42) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by William Charles Piguenit have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in April 2003 the work On the 'Break-O'-Day' Plains, Tasmania (Sunset after a storm), 1895 was auctioned for AUD 70,500.00 (€ 35,950.41).

Im November 2008 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian The Clouds Drop Fatness, A Western Pastoral, New South Wales von William Charles Piguenit zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 42.000,00 (€ 21.658,42) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von William Charles Piguenit konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im April 2003 die Arbeit On the 'Break-O'-Day' Plains, Tasmania (Sunset after a storm), 1895 für AUD 70.500,00 (€ 35.950,41) versteigert.
