In January 2013 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art, which included the work Quiet Contemplation by Vlaho Bukovac. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,508.83), 50% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Vlaho Bukovac - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Croatian a Moment'S Distraction, which sold at auction in November 2011 for GBP 58,850.00 (€ 68,701.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Januar 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Quiet Contemplation von Vlaho Bukovac zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.508,83) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Vlaho Bukovac mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Croatian a Moment'S Distraction beobachtet, die im November 2011 für GBP 58.850,00 (€ 68.701,35) versteigert wurde.
