A top price for Vittorio Sella - as previously expected
In December 2012 Christies in New York held the auction The National Geographic Collection: The Art of Exploration, which included the work Shkhara ridge, Georgia, c. 1890 by Vittorio Sella. The result of USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,791.90) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Shkhara ridge, Georgia, c. 1890 is the most expensive artwork by Vittorio Sella that we have observed at auctions so far.
