Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Study Of A Young Child Asleep, Possibly The Artist'S Daughter Giuseppina by Vincenzo Gemito. The price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 15,054.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 14,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Vincenzo Gemito - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait en buste du chanteur lyrique Jean-Baptiste Faure, which sold at auction in March this year for EUR 41,984.00.

Im Januar 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Study Of A Young Child Asleep, Possibly The Artist'S Daughter Giuseppina von Vincenzo Gemito zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 15.054,66) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 14.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Vincenzo Gemito mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait en buste du chanteur lyrique Jean-Baptiste Faure beobachtet, die im März diesen Jahres für EUR 41.984,00 versteigert wurde.
