The work Ritratto del pittore Jean-Louis-Ernest Meissonier by Vincenzo Gemito was sold in the 19th and 20th Century Paintings and Sculptures auction at Il Ponte in June this year. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,500.00 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vincenzo Gemito achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait en buste du chanteur lyrique Jean-Baptiste Faure in March this year with an auction result of EUR 41,984.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Ritratto del pittore Jean-Louis-Ernest Meissonier von Vincenzo Gemito wurde im Juni diesen Jahres in der Auktion 19th and 20th Century Paintings and Sculptures bei Il Ponte versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.500,00 und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Vincenzo Gemito erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait en buste du chanteur lyrique Jean-Baptiste Faure im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 41.984,00.
