Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Interiør, Strandgade 30 by Vilhelm Hammershøi was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2019. The price achieved of USD 3,020,000.00 (€ 2,740,720.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,500,000.00 – 3,500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Vilhelm Hammershøi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Stue (Interior with an Oval Mirror), which sold at auction in May last year for USD 6,300,000.00 (€ 5,870,841.49).

Die Arbeit Interiør, Strandgade 30 von Vilhelm Hammershøi kam im November 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.020.000,00 (€ 2.740.720,57) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.500.000,00 – 3.500.000,00 angegeben worden.
