In November 2013 Christies in London held the auction Important Russian Art, which included the work On Guard by Viktor Vasnetsov. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 338,500.00 (€ 407,339.45), 69% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Viktor Vasnetsov - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Bogatyr, which sold at auction in November 2011 for GBP 1,105,250.00 (€ 1,290,266.20).

Im November 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion Important Russian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit On Guard von Viktor Vasnetsov zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 338.500,00 (€ 407.339,45) und damit 69% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Viktor Vasnetsov mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Bogatyr beobachtet, die im November 2011 für GBP 1.105.250,00 (€ 1.290.266,20) versteigert wurde.
