Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Up Building by Viktor Popkov was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,643.77). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Viktor Popkov achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Family In July, 1969 in November 2010 with an auction result of USD 842,500.00 (€ 646,287.20).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Up Building von Viktor Popkov im November 2014 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.643,77) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Viktor Popkov erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Family In July, 1969 im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 842.500,00 (€ 646.287,20).
