Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Three Artists by Viktor Popkov was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 180,000.00 – 250,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 173,000.00 (€ 234,925.68). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Viktor Popkov - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Family In July, 1969, which sold at auction in November 2010 for USD 842,500.00 (€ 646,287.20).
