Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Club Sputnik by Viktor Popkov was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 14,981.12) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Viktor Popkov achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Family In July, 1969 in November 2010 with an auction result of USD 842,500.00 (€ 646,287.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Club Sputnik von Viktor Popkov kam im Juni 2015 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 14.981,12) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Viktor Popkov erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Family In July, 1969 im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 842.500,00 (€ 646.287,20).
