Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of A Girl, Khakassia From The Series Abakan-Taishet by Viktor Popkov was sold in the Art of the Soviet Union auction at Sothebys in London in November 2017. The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,675.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Viktor Popkov achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Family In July, 1969 in November 2010 with an auction result of USD 842,500.00 (€ 646,287.20).
