Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Spring by Viktor Popkov for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,944.35). This price was achieved in the auction Russian Paintings at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Viktor Popkov achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Family In July, 1969 in November 2010 with an auction result of USD 842,500.00 (€ 646,287.20).
