Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Bun For Tea (From The Apartment N.22 Series) by Victor Pivovarov was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 39,650.00 (€ 46,527.95). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Victor Pivovarov - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Triptych with a Snake, which sold at auction in October 2008 for GBP 145,250.00 (€ 185,141.64).
