Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Fording A River, Algiers by Victor Huguet was sold in the European Art Part II auction at Christies in New York in October 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,512.66) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Victor Huguet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Halte De Bicharis Dans Le Desert De Lybie in December 2008 with an auction result of EUR 159,156.00.

Die Arbeit Fording A River, Algiers von Victor Huguet wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion European Art Part II bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.512,66) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Victor Huguet erzielen.
