Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Victor Hugo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2014. In the 19th Century European Paintings auction, the work French Paysage (Recto); Personnages (Verso) sold for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 22,528.30) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Victor Hugo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Planète (Saturne) in February 2014 with an auction result of GBP 434,500.00 (€ 527,153.05).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Victor Hugo erzielte im Dezember 2014 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings wurde die Arbeit French Paysage (Recto); Personnages (Verso) für GBP 17.500,00 (€ 22.528,30) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Victor Hugo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Planète (Saturne) im Februar 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 434.500,00 (€ 527.153,05).
