The work French Facade by Victor Hugo was sold in the 19th Century European Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in December 2014. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,250.00 (€ 8,045.82), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Victor Hugo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Planète (Saturne) in February 2014 with an auction result of GBP 434,500.00 (€ 527,153.05).

Die Arbeit French Facade von Victor Hugo wurde im Dezember 2014 in der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 8.045,82) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Victor Hugo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Planète (Saturne) im Februar 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 434.500,00 (€ 527.153,05).
