Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Verne Dawson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in February 2011. In the The Valencia Collection auction, the work Sun sold for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,834.37) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Verne Dawson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Manhattan in November 2003 with an auction result of USD 47,800.00 (€ 39,849.94).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Verne Dawson erzielte im Februar 2011 bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Valencia Collection wurde die Arbeit Sun für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.834,37) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Verne Dawson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Manhattan im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.800,00 (€ 39.849,94).
