Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dalmatian No. 9 (Rocky) by Vaughn Spann was auctioned at Phillips in New York in November last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 81,900.00 (€ 79,337.40) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Vaughn Spann - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Big Black Rainbow (Deep Dive), which sold at auction in December 2020 for USD 239,400.00 (€ 195,748.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Dalmatian No. 9 (Rocky) von Vaughn Spann kam im November letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 81.900,00 (€ 79.337,40) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Vaughn Spann mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Big Black Rainbow (Deep Dive) beobachtet, die im Dezember 2020 für USD 239.400,00 (€ 195.748,16) versteigert wurde.
