Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Vasudeo S. Gaitonde was sold in the The India Sale - South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction at Christies in Mumbai in December 2016. It changed hands for a price of INR 114,325,000.00 (€ 1,592,662.53) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of INR 90,000,000.00 – 120,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Vasudeo S. Gaitonde - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in September 2017 for USD 4,092,500.00 (€ 3,464,403.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Vasudeo S. Gaitonde wurde im Dezember 2016 in der Auktion The India Sale - South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in Mumbai versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von INR 114.325.000,00 (€ 1.592.662,53) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von INR 90.000.000,00 – 120.000.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Vasudeo S. Gaitonde mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im September 2017 für USD 4.092.500,00 (€ 3.464.403,62) versteigert wurde.
