Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art, which included this untitled work by Vasudeo S. Gaitonde. The price achieved of GBP 1,709,000.00 (€ 1,884,450.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500,000.00 – 2,000,000.00. Other works by Vasudeo S. Gaitonde have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in September 2017 the work without title was auctioned for USD 4,092,500.00 (€ 3,464,403.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Vasudeo S. Gaitonde zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.709.000,00 (€ 1.884.450,33) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500.000,00 – 2.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Vasudeo S. Gaitonde konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im September 2017 die Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 4.092.500,00 (€ 3.464.403,62) versteigert.
