Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
This work without title by Vasudeo S. Gaitonde was sold in the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2020. It achieved a price of USD 1,820,000.00 (€ 1,650,194.94), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 21%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Vasudeo S. Gaitonde - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in September 2017 for USD 4,092,500.00 (€ 3,464,403.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Vasudeo S. Gaitonde wurde im März 2020 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 1.820.000,00 (€ 1.650.194,94) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 21%. Für andere Arbeiten von Vasudeo S. Gaitonde mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im September 2017 für USD 4.092.500,00 (€ 3.464.403,62) versteigert wurde.
