Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Valie Export could be acquired at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction, the work SCHATTEN (SHADOW) changed hands for EUR 1,125.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Valie Export achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Einkreisung' (Encirclement) (From Körperkonfigurationen (Body Configurations)) in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 60,480.00 (€ 51,927.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Valie Export konnte im November 2019 bei Christies in Amsterdam für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art wechselte die Arbeit SCHATTEN (SHADOW) für EUR 1.125,00 den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Valie Export erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Einkreisung' (Encirclement) (From Körperkonfigurationen (Body Configurations)) im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.480,00 (€ 51.927,53).
