Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Abstract Construction #3 by Vaclav Vytlacil was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,500.00 (€ 4,031.54). Admittedly, works by Vaclav Vytlacil have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life with Fish in September 2007 with an auction result of USD 27,400.00 (€ 19,269.99).
