Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Minamoto no Mitsunaka Sumiyoshi sanro mojigen (Apparition of the thunder god at Sumiyoshi Shrine before Minamoto no Mitsunaka) by Utagawa Yoshikazu was sold in the AN IMPORTANT COLLECTION OF JAPANESE PRINTS auction at Christies in New York in March 2003. The price achieved of USD 1,792.50 (€ 1,644.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Utagawa Yoshikazu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Amerikashu no uchi Washintonfu no kei dohan no utsushi (One of the states in America: Copy of an engraving of Washington, D.C.) in March 2003 with an auction result of USD 10,755.00 (€ 9,866.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Minamoto no Mitsunaka Sumiyoshi sanro mojigen (Apparition of the thunder god at Sumiyoshi Shrine before Minamoto no Mitsunaka) von Utagawa Yoshikazu wurde im März 2003 in der Auktion AN IMPORTANT COLLECTION OF JAPANESE PRINTS bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.792,50 (€ 1.644,50) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Utagawa Yoshikazu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Amerikashu no uchi Washintonfu no kei dohan no utsushi (One of the states in America: Copy of an engraving of Washington, D.C.) im März 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.755,00 (€ 9.866,97).
