Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Utagawa Yoshikazu could be acquired at Bonhams in London in September this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fine Japanese and Korean Art auction, the work Amerikakoku jōkisha ōrai (America: A Steamboat in Motion) changed hands for USD 832.00 (€ 786.09) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Utagawa Yoshikazu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Amerikashu no uchi Washintonfu no kei dohan no utsushi (One of the states in America: Copy of an engraving of Washington, D.C.) in March 2003 with an auction result of USD 10,755.00 (€ 9,866.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Utagawa Yoshikazu konnte im September diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Fine Japanese and Korean Art wechselte die Arbeit Amerikakoku jōkisha ōrai (America: A Steamboat in Motion) für USD 832,00 (€ 786,09) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Utagawa Yoshikazu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Amerikashu no uchi Washintonfu no kei dohan no utsushi (One of the states in America: Copy of an engraving of Washington, D.C.) im März 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.755,00 (€ 9.866,97).
