Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work A triptych showing a scene from the Taiheiki, it shows Kato Kiyomasa on the boat to Korea, as the vanguard of Hideyoshi's invasion of Korea in 1583, signed: Ikkeisai Yoshiiku ga, date: 1860, 2nd month; and: Utagawa Kunisada (1786-1865), a triptych showing by Utagawa Yoshiiku for EUR 717.00. This price was achieved in the auction ASIAN CERAMICS AND WORKS OF ART at Christies in Amsterdam and was even below the estimate range of EUR 800.00 Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Utagawa Yoshiiku achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Artisans And Events Of The Twelve Months in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 52,500.00 (€ 44,707.49).
