This artwork by Utagawa Toyohiro achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2018. In the Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) Including a Selection of Japanese Woodblock Prints from Private Collections auction, the work Three Views of Japan (Nihon san kei) sold for HKD 75,000.00 (€ 8,465.07) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 30,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Utagawa Toyohiro; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Standing beauty sold at auction in March 2009 with the realized price of USD 18,750.00 (€ 14,139.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Utagawa Toyohiro erzielte im November 2018 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) Including a Selection of Japanese Woodblock Prints from Private Collections wurde die Arbeit Three Views of Japan (Nihon san kei) für HKD 75.000,00 (€ 8.465,07) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 30.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Utagawa Toyohiro; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Standing beauty im März 2009 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 14.139,21).
