Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2011 Christies in London held the auction Japanese Art & Design Including Arts of The Samurai, which included the work From the surimono series Suru ichi First of a Set of Companions commissioned by the Taikogawa poetry club, an Oharame wood cutter and a child resting beside an ox, the poem reads by Utagawa Kunimaru. The price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 1,021.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,000.00. Admittedly, works by Utagawa Kunimaru have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Unknown in May this year with an auction result of GBP 6,144.00 (€ 7,148.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Japanese Art & Design Including Arts of The Samurai durch, in der auch die Arbeit From the surimono series Suru ichi First of a Set of Companions commissioned by the Taikogawa poetry club, an Oharame wood cutter and a child resting beside an ox, the poem reads von Utagawa Kunimaru zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 875,00 (€ 1.021,47) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Utagawa Kunimaru auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Unknown im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.144,00 (€ 7.148,58).
