Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction A Life Among Artists: Contemporary Photographs from an Esteemed Private Collection, which included the work Field #9 by Uta Barth. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,276.00 (€ 2,829.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Uta Barth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (02.4) in May 2006 with an auction result of USD 38,400.00 (€ 29,922.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion A Life Among Artists: Contemporary Photographs from an Esteemed Private Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Field #9 von Uta Barth zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.276,00 (€ 2.829,75) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Uta Barth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (02.4) im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 38.400,00 (€ 29.922,86).
