Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Card Players by Ulpiano Checa was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2004. The price achieved of USD 23,900.00 (€ 12,101.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ulpiano Checa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Carnival Eve in October 2006 with an auction result of USD 156,000.00 (€ 122,132.62).
