This artwork by Ulpiano Checa achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2017. In the 19th Century European Paintings auction, the work Spanish the Balcony sold for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 30,947.22) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ulpiano Checa - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Carnival Eve, which sold at auction in October 2006 for USD 156,000.00 (€ 122,132.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ulpiano Checa erzielte im Dezember 2017 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings wurde die Arbeit Spanish the Balcony für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 30.947,22) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ulpiano Checa mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Carnival Eve beobachtet, die im Oktober 2006 für USD 156.000,00 (€ 122.132,62) versteigert wurde.
