Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Meigi Takao (The famous courtesan Takao) by Uemura Shoen was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2001. The price achieved of USD 28,200.00 (€ 33,353.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Uemura Shoen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beauties of the twelve months in March 2003 with an auction result of USD 399,500.00 (€ 366,513.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Meigi Takao (The famous courtesan Takao) von Uemura Shoen kam im Mai 2001 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 28.200,00 (€ 33.353,05) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Uemura Shoen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beauties of the twelve months im März 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 399.500,00 (€ 366.513,76).
