Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Heavy Rain by U Lun Gywe was sold in the Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) Including a Selection of Japanese Woodblock Prints from Private Collections auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 75,000.00 (€ 8,465.07) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by U Lun Gywe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Spectrum of Burmese Colour in November 2019 with an auction result of HKD 325,000.00 (€ 37,693.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Heavy Rain von U Lun Gywe wurde im November 2018 in der Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) Including a Selection of Japanese Woodblock Prints from Private Collections bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 75.000,00 (€ 8.465,07) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von U Lun Gywe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Spectrum of Burmese Colour im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 325.000,00 (€ 37.693,98).
