Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Floating Market At Mandalay by U Lun Gywe was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2018. The price achieved of HKD 118,750.00 (€ 12,530.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 85,000.00 – 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by U Lun Gywe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Spectrum of Burmese Colour, which sold at auction in November 2019 for HKD 325,000.00 (€ 37,693.98).

Die Arbeit Floating Market At Mandalay von U Lun Gywe kam im April 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 118.750,00 (€ 12.530,02) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 85.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von U Lun Gywe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Spectrum of Burmese Colour beobachtet, die im November 2019 für HKD 325.000,00 (€ 37.693,98) versteigert wurde.
