Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Tren en el sótano by Trino Sánchez was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,780.00 (€ 3,984.99). Admittedly, works by Trino Sánchez have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Circo rojo in June 2000 with an auction result of USD 23,500.00 (€ 24,620.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Tren en el sótano von Trino Sánchez im November 2003 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.780,00 (€ 3.984,99) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Trino Sánchez auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Circo rojo im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.500,00 (€ 24.620,22).
