Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Keyhole/Advanced Crystal in Hercules (Optical Reconnaissance Satellite, USA 116) by Trevor Paglen was sold in the Photographs auction at Sothebys in London in May last year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,560.00 (€ 8,893.62) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Trevor Paglen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Discarded Rocket Body Approaching the Disk of the Moon (SL-8 R/B) in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 38,761.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Keyhole/Advanced Crystal in Hercules (Optical Reconnaissance Satellite, USA 116) von Trevor Paglen wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Photographs bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.560,00 (€ 8.893,62) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Trevor Paglen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Discarded Rocket Body Approaching the Disk of the Moon (SL-8 R/B) im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 38.761,41).
